About The Scott Group of Virginia
The Scott Group of Virginia, LLC, is a veteran-owned small business providing strategic business development services to large and small businesses in the Federal government market place. Scott Denniston, President of the Scott Group is a nationally recognized advocate for veteran entrepreneurs. In 1988 he was appointed to the Congressional Commission on Service Members and Veterans Transition Assistance, where he developed recommendations for enhancing and expanding support for veteran business owners. Many of those recommendations were incorporated into Public Law 106-50, the Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Act of 1999, and Public Law 108-183, the Veterans Benefits Act of 2003. He established the Center for Veterans Enterprise, an organization dedicated to providing support to veterans interested in entrepreneurship. Mr. Denniston has been recognized by groups as diverse as Federal Computer Week, Association for Federal Information Resources Management, Parren J. Mitchell Foundation and the American Freedom Foundation for his leadership in the small business arena.
The Scott Group works with a diverse client base of small businesses to identify contracting opportunities based on the clients capabilities and interests. Using unique market research tools potential markets are identified, current incumbents and contracting mechanisms determined, and strategies to show "value add" are established to set clients apart from their competition. Many Federal clients now use subcontracting program development as an evaluation factor for award. Scott Group works with large clients to refine and enhance existing small business subcontracting programs as well as develop new ones. Scott Group also helps large clients identify and analyze potential small business teaming partners based on needs and opportunities.
